Simple quirky Inst. We called it : "TREMENDOUS Gentleness"

Post by HectorRContreras » Thu Sep 19, 2013 6:11 pm

Hello everyone,

"We know that you love the Music that you do, Guys, but others may hear it differently" said Michael Laskow during a recent TV show. Or something like that.

The idea is that we need many ears in order to gain the most objective view or review.

This is what this Forum is for ! Among many other things.

Ok; this is our attempt for the Listing below. It is called : "TREMENDOUS gentleness"
http://www.taxi.com/E-2013-1844

It took SIX versions !! And six hours to do. This is how hard we worked on this. Are we becoming a slightly bit ... perfectionist ? Smile.

Of course we are publishing it here today, because we would love your Critiques before we submit it to-morrow. Thank you. :)

"Dear Passengers,

POSITIVE, EMOTIONALLY UPBEAT, QUIRKY INSTRUMENTAL TRACKS that would work well for Major Advertising Campaigns/TV Commercials, are needed by a Music Licensing Company that works primarily outside of the U.S. market. This company pitches music to some HUGE Ad Agencies and has had a really nice string of placements. They're turning to TAXI to bulk up their catalog with some fresh, new options for their clients. They know where to find the good stuff ;-)

Please submit ORIGINAL, RELATIVELY SIMPLE Instrumental Tracks that are fun, emotionally upbeat, melodically addictive, and a little bit on the quirky side of things.

TAXI Tip: "Quirky" does NOT mean totally whacked out! Mid-To-Up Tempo, rhythmic tracks with handclaps, finger snaps, shoe stomps, maybe some whistling, mostly acoustic instruments (guitars, ukes, piano, banjo, etc.), maybe even a glockenspiel, and fun little melodies that make listeners feel good are what Ad Agencies love to use. The trick is to give them music you'd hear in other commercials with a fresh twist, but WITHOUT going off the rails to Crazytown.

Your Instrumental Tracks should be at least 60 seconds long. A buttoned ending is preferred, but not necessary. Broadcast Quality is needed (great sounding home recordings are fine). And please avoid instrumentation that will step on dialog or voiceovers (screaming lead guitars and saxophones come to mind).

This company only takes a 20% commission of the negotiated license fee; you'll keep everything else! You must own or control 100% of your Master and Composition rights. Do not submit tracks that contain unauthorized samples of any artists' work, or any other form of media. All instrumentals will be screened on a Yes/No basis. No full critiques. Submit one to three Instrumentals online or per CD. All submissions are due no later than Friday, September 20th by noon (PDT). TAXI # U130920QI"

Very Nice piece Hector!
My thought is that the bass line pulls the song into a Jazz feel.
I wonder if they will go for that???

Thank you dear Robert ! :)

Yes, the wonder if they will go for the slight Jazz mood of this little Piece, or not.
We had a return once, for an Ads Listing again, because of the Jazz flavour.
Ads do not do Jazz very much, right ?
It was called "I am in a hurry":
