Producing High Quality Cues Quickly (Any Tips?)

Yes people when they refer to pop/rock cues are talking about non-orchestral tracks. I've heard some high end orchestral composers who take up to a week on some tracks. Depends on the track. If I put the pressure on to do consistent 2 tracks a day I think the quality would suffer but depends on the lengBecause I don't do orchestral I have one large templete that I use for pretty much everything then change or adapt it slightly if needed. In my opinion in the old analog days they had one mixing board with faders labeled so I look at it like that.

On top of shopping for a keyboard, I'm also looking into a wider, musician-built desk so that everything is in front of me including my keyboard, mouse, mixer, hardware all at my fingertips. I hope to get these issues resolved within the next month here.

Yes, Chuck, definitely density of a track can affect how fast I can get it done. I also find that the arrangement takes time too. Maybe I should take a simpler approach to things (creating something of a 3 note hook and build from it, etc.).

Iif it ends up in a library, no matter who prices it you should charge accordingly. Silly to charge the same price for a rock track that took 4-6 hours to put together then charge the same thing for the orchestral that took a week.
