use full PRO writer's names

Post by deantaylor » Sat Oct 12, 2013 3:26 pm

Just a friendly warning: When submitting or signing songs to libraries use writer's names exactly as they appear with the PRO (ascap/bmi/etc) for yourself and all co-writers. Even if the PRO lists different cae's for different name variations, such as:

Bob Smith
Bob B Smith
Bob Ben Smith

Use "Bob Ben Smith" .... the most unique name.

Even if you give someone the correct cae number in addition to the name, there still could be many Bob Smith's and you are just making it easier for libraries and production companies to make errors on song registrations and cue sheets. I know from experience.
