I'm watching offline the show from yesterday when Michael and Mike Steimel talked bout the TAXI vibe. Then I remembered the Rally 2011 when my daughter and me rode to the airport in a shuttle. Another guy went with us and he had the same TAXI-feeling: No arrogance, nose-up, self promos etc.
We had been to MI the day before, taking a tour (great school I graduated from inn '94). When we were sitting there in the hall and several (freaky) students went by during that 30 minutes-wait my daughter asked me "aren't there any NORMAL people here...?
So this is totally different at the Rally. Normal people, down-to-earth, especially the people who "made it" seem to know that they don't have to "prove" anything.
The only thing I can come up WHY this is different at the Rally: It's a big shmoozing-room! This is something I experienced at another conference where it was as easy to come in contact, talk and result in a future co-operation (with a label-owner and a millon-CD-sales Christian artist) in a cafe. Inofficially the conference-oldies called it "the shmoozing room".
So it has to do with the people speaking/teaching and the members.
Love it!
