Signed but no further action?

Post by daveydad » Thu Nov 07, 2013 10:29 am

Signed recently with a library submitting paperwork and all... but have yet to hear back about the track. Is this normal or will they just use the low quality track sent to them via Taxi?

A polite would probably be ok I think.......FInd myself doing that a lot. If no response in 72 hours follow up. That's in a case like this. FOr general librry submissions, I generally don't. But if they said the like something and want to use your track?...

Seems odd they didn't give you submission instructions with the rest of the info. Read thru everything carefully. If there's nothing, send a polite note. They may have specific requirements for the wave file, they may want it by FTP or on CD.

Just checked and my song is now in their library online... so I guess the MP3 was good enough for them?

Would still contact and offer to send more.....they may be busy enough and only send out briefs but you'd probably want to know.

Yes, I would contact them and ask for a submission guide to know what formats they require for future submissions.

I haven't heard of libraries using MP3's as their final format. I might not mean anything (just because I don't have any experience with it) but I would check it out and see if they want a higher-rez version.

Update: contacted them and they did want a wav file. And also asked for more tracks to consider!

There are a few libraries that do work only with mp3's. I've worked with one for over 4 years and has gotten me several placements. It really depends on the library's client. Some want wav files, some don't really care. :|
