Speak The Truth (Gospel)

Post by LooknGlass » Fri Dec 06, 2013 11:58 am

As Christmas approaches, I decided to write something for the occasion, even though it's more an Easter lyric. But I had to pay homage, especially for my dear departed mother who liked me to write such lyrics for her.

(Vs)
With a crown of thorns hanging on a cross,
he bore their sins with open arms,
even as they laughed and cursed his name.
He came into this world to save the lost,
knowing that he would suffer harm;
fully aware he would die alone in pain.

(Ch)
The Truth bled,
the Truth died,
the Truth rose and is by my side.
The Truth lives
and forgives;
resides wherever true faith is;
so help me God,
I speak the Truth.

(Vs)
He pitied those looking up at him
and in his love he forsook wrath
asking God to forgive what they have done.
Could have sought destruction for their sin
but chose compassion on their behalf
so in his death their lost souls could be won

(Ch)
The Truth bled,
the Truth died,
the Truth rose and is by my side.
The Truth lives
and forgives;
resides wherever true faith is;
so help me God,
I speak the Truth.

(Bridge)
It's Jesus, It's Jesus
The way, the truth, the light
It's Jesus, It's Jesus
In death he brought us life
Triumphant he has risen
in glory will return again
It's Jesus, It's Jesus
The true savior of all men

(Ch)
The Truth bled,
the Truth died,
the Truth rose and is by my side.
The Truth lives
and forgives;
resides wherever true faith is;
so help me God,
I speak the Truth.
