Am I missing something???

Post by jtmulkey » Thu Jan 30, 2014 8:37 am

Maybe some of you could shed some light on why this one didn't get through. I thought I had a good chance on it.

CLASSIC ROCK inspired INSTRUMENTAL TRACKS are needed by a Music Supervisor working on several very cool TV Shows. He's on the lookout for Mid-To-Up-Tempo Instrumental Tracks with a propulsive, dynamic, and energetic feel. Stylistically, your Instrumentals should appeal to fans of Bands like KISS, AC/DC, Black Sabbath, etc. Stay close to the tried and true Rock N' Roll formula of electric guitars, bass, and drums. Instrumentals with some rockin’ keyboards should be okay, as long as they don't soften the edge of your Track. Give this Supervisor tight, powerful chord progressions, with an aggressive tone, and plenty of swagger. The most important thing is that your Track sounds like a REAL BAND and not stiff and MIDI-driven. Keep your arrangements simple and straightforward, but not predictable. Avoid excessive soloing, jamming, or anything that's too busy or frenetic. You'd be smart to leave plenty of space available for dialogue by avoiding solos that could overpower it. This Music Supervisor wants Instrumentals that will drive the intensity of action-packed montages, or help transition changes between locations or scenes in a TV show. Think of the kind of Classic Rock that's played during a professional sporting event to pump up the crowd. Stick to the big, catchy, memorable hooks! Your submissions should be at least 90 seconds long. Tracks with tight, buttoned endings are strongly encouraged, but not required. Please, do NOT copy or rip off the referenced Bands in any way, shape, or form. Broadcast Quality is needed (great sounding home recordings are fine). These will be Direct-to-Music Supervisor placements, so you'll keep 100% of your Master and Composition ownership, plus you'll get 100% of the Sync fee and any applicable performance royalties. The estimated Sync fee is $100 - $800 depending on which show the placement is in, and the ultimate use. You must own or control 100% of the Master and Copyright to pitch for this opportunity. You must own or control 100% of the Master and Copyright to pitch for this opportunity. All Instrumentals will be screened on a Yes/No basis. No full critiques. Please submit 1-3 Instrumentals no later than Monday, January 27th, by 9:30am (PST). TAXI #U140127CR

"Hi Jason, I think the idea is there and the guitar work is certainly solid. I find that the track lacks some depth and dynamic energy to really "drive the intensity" of a scene with that feel that will "pump up the crowd" as requested." screener#347

good track. your stuff has improved incredibly over the time you have been posting on the forum.

ultimately just not the right one for this listing.

keep in mind - as they are offering up front money for this placement - that puts it in a "high bar" category - and screener 347 is pretty tough to get one through anyways.

keep on truckin'
