1/3 Blues Rock Song forwarded Direct to Music Supervisor

Post by ericmakesmusic » Mon Feb 10, 2014 6:57 pm

Axel and I got a forward for our song "Don't Wanna Know (What I'm Missing)".

The reviewer was very complimentary about the other two songs (Too Big For The City and Heaven Can Wait) but said that they were a little too Alt Rock for this submission.

All three songs are on my TAXI profile.

GRITTY BLUES ROCK SONGS are needed by an A-LIST HOLLYWOOD MUSIC SUPERVISOR for a HIT TV series. The Music Supervisor wants to hear Mid-to-Up Tempo Songs with Male OR Female vocals that will appeal to fans of artists like The MC5, The White Stripes, The Von Bondies, etc. Please check out the reference songs as a guide for general vibe, tone, and attitude: “Motor City Is Burning” by the MC5: http://bit.ly/1emb0gG “Seven Nation Army” by The White Stripes: http://bit.ly/1eoNPH2 “C’mon C’mon” by The Von Bondies: http://bit.ly/1embOCb Quoting the source: “This episode is going to take place in Detroit. We’re looking for songs with that gritty ‘Motor City Rock’ sound to play in the background of multiple scenes for this episode. The band (or artist) does not have to be from Detroit, but the song needs to have an authentic Detroit Rock sound and vibe.” Your songs need to sound like a real band with some angst and attitude thrown in for good measure. Give him edgy guitars and interesting hooks. Your vocals need to be powerful, with convincing raw Rock energy, and plenty of swagger. Lyrics that are specifically about Detroit or Rock ‘n’ Roll ARE encouraged for this pitch, but they’re not an absolute requirement… just think of them as icing on the cake if you’ve got them. It's okay to give the city a specific shout out like they do in “Detroit Rock City” by Kiss, or “Panic In Detroit’ by David Bowie. We like that this Supervisor actually needs more than one song for this episode! The estimated license fee for this use is $1,000 - $2,000. This is a Direct-to-Music Supervisor placement, so you’ll keep all of your original rights, plus you’ll get 100% of the sync fee and any applicable performance royalties. You must own or control 100% of the Master and Copyright to pitch for this opportunity. Broadcast Quality is needed (great sounding home recordings are fine). Do NOT copy or rip off the referenced artists or songs in any way, shape, or form. All songs will be screened on a Yes/No basis by a person hand picked by the Music Supervisor. No full critiques. Please submit 1-3 songs no later than Friday, January 10th, 2013 at 2pm (PST). TAXI #U140110BR
