I haven't seen a summer since you took your warmth away
Every August may as well be a December day
I miss the heat I used to feel just lying on your skin
But Winter's taking over me and keeping the cold in

I never see the sunshine setting like I used to years ago
And it's hard to hear my heartbeat when it's buried under snow
My garden won't grow roses in this freezing temperature

You mean hybrid teas and chinas? What about Scotch roses, bourbons, gallicas, hybrid musk, rugosa, moss, damask, alba, centifolia, eglantine, species roses? Sometimes Noisettes? Roses are really very hearty. At my old place I was addicted. I lost count around 300 rose bushes. There's nothing like the windows open choking and getting headaches from all the rose perfumes,lol! (Seriously, if I had known they were so potently fragrant, I wouldn't have planted so many fragrant ones so close to the house!).
