instrumental writers - any income from Taxi submissions?
Greetings - I have submitted material to Taxi for years, had 19 forwards, but have yet earned a penny. I write mostly instrumental (jazz, classical, new age, world music), but have also submitted some singer/songwriter material and pop songs. Anyone out there had any success in instrumental submissions? (I earn plenty of money through other sources of selling my music - just want to see if Taxi is still a viable choice). Thanks!

Hello.
Yes, I'm making money from my taxi submissions. I do instrumental music and have signed with 8 libraries all through Taxi. It takes some time, but I am starting to get traction with my placements.
I have also found this forum and the Rally to be huge benefits of membership.
Cheers

Hi, Welcome to the Forums!
Yes Taxi is a viable resource. I am among those who have placed their music in income generating position through Taxi.
Once you get the forward, next comes the listing parting contacting you to sign the work. Then comes the placement. Then comes the $$.
all the best!

Taxi can be a tough nut to crack. The bar is higher, and in my opinion the reward is likewise. It's often easier to get placements outside of Taxi, but the company prides itself on the quality of the opportunities provided, so if you're new enough to the game to have trouble separating the wheat from the chaff, I don't believe there's a better entree to the biz than Taxi. I know some folks who've had more success on their own than they've had with Taxi, but who's to say they would have had it without what they learned from submissions, or here in the forum or at the Rally?

Hello,
My name is Billy.
I just turned 52 Y/O.
I am in my third year as a Taxi member.
There is no way to express in a nutshell how much I have learned from Taxi.
My first year was 50 straight returns. Number 51 a forward, a proud moment indeed.
The more I studied Michael, Taxi TV, the guest hosts, and the forums I started getting more forwards.
Early this year I checked my junk mail because I was bored.
There was an email from a library asking me for 10 more cues from a forward I had just got.
Since then I have made another great connection (also rescued from my junk mail folder).
Now if I put in the work and create the quantity and quality of work needed I see no reason why placements and money
shouldn't start sneaking there way into the equation within the next few years.
I just feel a Thank You is in order at this point to Michael for truly caring about his members.
You can tell by watching him on his shows and hearing his stories he would make a great and loyal friend.
Thank You Michael, Screeners and Staff.
Cheers,
Billy Hale
