learning curve

I attribute this return to my incomplete learning curve. This was asking for a cue,"keep it simple and repetitive" were mentioned and repeated in the description. (below)

I would appreciate any comments here as always, but I begin to see I could have done more to make this more usable. Simple doesn't have to mean repetitive, in fact I see the skill here would be to use subtle contrast and dynamics etc. so it is still good music.

"repetitive motifs", probably not repetitive as in no chord changes. That's maybe what the variety and development critique meant. Also, normally imo there should be maybe a four bar phrase with an open cadence, and then a four bar phrase with a closed cadence. Eg. last note on open cadence a 5th, and closed cadence a 1.

It's sort of like those midi backing track pattern measures that are defaulted to CMaj. that need to be transposed to a different chord eventually. Same pattern, same motif, different chord.

Hey Diane, I'm certainly no expert on these types of tracks, but I did notice a few people posted their forwards for this same listing in the "Forwards" section. You may want to jump in and listen to their tunes and compare them to yours to see what worked and made it through for this listing.

Thanks Matt, I did the listening you suggested and I began to see how much more I could have done with the track,
and next time I'll use a different approach. Sometimes learning is painful, but the rewards of improvement are valuable.

Hey Zac -No sorry, I deleted it during a recent housecleaning and it's now being worked on so I may re-post it when it's developed more. I agree with your posted suggestion re making changes on submissions by the way, was great to read what you had to say on that point, seems like a logical progression to me which would really make a lot of sense.
