Glen Campbell tribute song
I heard this song today for the first time. I wanted to share it with my fellow TAXI members. Glen Campbell has a huge influence on many of us of a certain age. This song was written and sung by Jeff Dayton who toured with Glen for a number of years. The song is entitled Long Slow Train Out Of Town. I hope that you enjoy it.

Lamar
When you know who the song is about it makes a whole lot of sense
Heres to the guy that gave us Wichita Lineman, Southern Nights, Galveston, Gentle on My Mind, Rhinestone Cowboy and Country Boy to name a few.
Best

First time hearing it for me, too; thanks to you.LamarPecorino wrote:I heard this song today for the first time. I wanted to share it with my fellow TAXI members. Glen has a resume and credits way beyond his solo-singing... which is not new news, obviously.
And for the collaborators out there...
Jimmy Webb's songwriting skills were certainly magnified by the singing talents of Glen.
That tribute song has some awesome guitar tones and production, in addition to the whole sentiment of the lyric and vocal performance.
In Taxi TV lingo, I give it multiple +1's

Cheers,
Peter R.

Re: Glen Campbell tribute song
Yes, a fine tribute.
I remember seeing Glen Campbell on TV a couple of years back talking about his battle with Alzheimer's.
Very sad, made all the more so with the apparent family feuding that's going on.
A great voice, and a pretty darn good guitar player!

I put the kettle on, it didn't suit me.

Re: Glen Campbell tribute song
Thanks for your comments. I spend a lot of my time entertaining at Senior Living Communities. The imagery in this song really hit home.
I agree that there is something magical that occurs when Glen sings one of Jimmy's compositions. They were meant for one another. There is a recently released DVD with Glen and Jimmy doing a Canadian broadcast entitled In Session. I have not purchased it yet. However there are a number of segments from it on YouTube. Here is one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YW5EvReWJF0
