And undoubtedly, there'll be a very clear upgrade path to version 2. 8-)

Damn you tore... now I have something else I need to buy. ;-)

Looks like a very nice library. Is this what you;ve been using for your orchestral work?

199 pounds is 306 dollars today... pretty amazing price for this sort of quality. The demos are amazing, make me want to write that Mass in the back of my mind. :)

Just a note from my own experience here.. while I love some of the stuff Spitfire comes out with, and their strings are amazing in so many ways.. BUT I got this stuff last year, and have been having a hard time getting some of it to pitch-match with other string VI's like with 8Dio Adagietto, for example.

I'm finding the pitches are slightly off, and conflict. I have not spent much time getting to know Albion or the Sable string products I bought. ALSO some of the Spitfire strings can sound dark, so be aware of this. I'm still thinking that if I spend some time getting to know how to layer them, it will help a lot. I have also heard that the Albion has more pitch problems, and that the Sable doesn't, but that is not my experience, just last week I was trying to layer some Sable string staccato violas with Adagietto, and it just was not sounding right to me, so I had to delete one of the layers.

Again, all of this is arguable, and there are many details to using these things for great outcomes, so this is just one limited view here, that I'm offering. I think a lot of the Spitfire VI's sound just amazing, on their own; I just have not mastered using them, especially with other products.

The demo sound amazing Paulie, but i think this string library sound best at det softer melancholy kind of music. Actually just what i prefer, but i bought 8DIO adagietto and Agitato that also incredible good sound so that is what i use in my tracks. I think 8DIO have really good samples in general But it seems to that maybe Albion is a bit more easy to use, just a thought. But the pitch that was mentiond is a big concern...

I Highly recommend to check out Daniel James's review on youtube :D

Yes, i bought it....i couldnt let this offer pass me by:) My first impression is very good, so much nice sounds like pads, drones and the brass sounds just amazing. The whole library sound very cinematic and big, not trailer like stuff, but more " Saving privat Ryan" if you know what i mean. Compare to 8DIO's strings Albion sounds different, not so detailed, but still very nice. I have to say that 8dio strings sound a bit better in overall, maybe because of the excellent dynamic bowing, but the price of this huge library is ...wow so much good stuff for so little money! :D

Have you verified any pitch problems with Albion?

No, i havent, but i have only layer it with Embertone Violin 1,5 and i think that sounded really nice. I know most of the librarys have a bit off pitch to sound more real specially on the Divisi stuff, det same goes for vibrato speed as well. I havent noticed it sound to much out of tune, but i try layer Albion with Adagietto now to see if any problem shows up. Albion is a huge library so it could be that some of the patches have bigger problems with pitch than others, so far soo good.

I' ll come back and share my experience with you.
