Re: Getting ready to get a new Mac, and....
Here's something interesting. I figured for now I'd just go to the Apple Store and pick up something off the shelf that was loaded with Yosemite. However, anything I wanted would have to be custom configured, which meant shipping from Apple, which meant El Capitan. Ok, so I figured I could just buy it anyway, wipe the drive, and do an install of Yosemite.
Not so fast, according to two Apple people I talked to (one at the store, the other at Apple). Both said that anything shipped with El Capitan would not run Yosemite. Only machines that upgraded from it would be able to roll back. Which means spending some serious cash on a computer that won't run my plugins.
This doesn't sound right at all, but nevertheless that's what they said.
?
Anyway, I haven't bought yet. Figured I'd wait until the patch was released and available. I suppose I could go through the hoops of finding a legacy copy of auvaltool and installing it, but seriously, after dropping that much on a new computer, I want to be able to just compose and record, not start fixing it so I can use it.
