What KC said! :D

But it appears that if you want the info to come up on a device that doesn't read from the internet (e.g. a car player), you have to make sure you check that "Include CD Text" box before burning so the info will be written to the CD.

Next year I'll do both! This year I'm going to convince all the sups that "Track 03" is a very creative name for a song. ;)

If you really want to be clever, name your cues Track 1, Track 2, etc. but out of order. Than you can say things like "my best track on this cd is Track 3, so play track 2" ;)

Based on my recent lack of success I may just use my blank CDs as coasters and just hang out at the Weston to meet everyone. #HavingABadDay

I'm writing a country song called "Track 3"... "My baby's train is coming in today on Track 3..." And yes, KC, I will make it track 2 on my CD! :P

KC AND CASEY:) you guys friends?
THANK YOU SO MUCH. I"ll go give it a try tomorrow and see if I"m successful. Great job reconnoitering -- it was amazing how many really good engineers I know did not know the answer...I couldn't find it on the internet either...it must be there. How idd you both find out: trial and error?

Hi Les
I figured it out with LOTS OF Google searches and a bit of trial/error until it started to make sense.

I'm only friends with KC because his family pays me.  (We've met at rallies and know each other well)

Best,
:D Casey (The one who spells that name the right way!)

Ok so I burned my CD, text info included, then you get an option to submit tracks, however, just the info about the CD pops up and you have to populate with artist name, album name and genre.. so I am assuming the tracks went into gracenote, but not sure. Guess I will check in a couple days on another computer with itunes.

Here is a site that describes how to do it

Excuse me if I'm a party pooper (and I'm definitely not a technical guy) but isn't it a fact that whoever listens to what we have - whether it's MP3 or Waves or whatever - quickly turns it off if it doesn't catch their attention? It's the song that counts and, ok, the production should be sound. But if they can't recognise a quality song because it's only on MP3 then they are surely in the wrong line of business. Or what ...?

You are right that the sound quality of a hi res mp3 (192K or higher) is very adequate for screening music. The issue here is whether to make an mp3 CD (which is a DATA CD) or an AUDIO CD. Since some players can't play mp3 CDs (possibly boom boxes at the rally, some car stereos, etc.), it's best to make an AUDIO CD. And IF you are going to make an audio CD, then it's best to make it from the highest resolution source you have. On the CD it will be 16 bit 44.1K, so no point in starting with less than that for the burning. You may as well make it the best possible. Make sense?

:D Casey
