The update is said to resolve the AU validation bug. Anyone know for sure?

I don't know about the AU reavaluation as my system was setup without the need to go through it.

But I can vouch for the MOTU beta driver 3 working as expected. I think I can finally stay booted into El Cap.Logic is working just fine. (I've read on other sites from reliable folks that AU stuff all works.)

cheers

Great news! When my new iMac comes in next week (with 10.11) I can do the update to 10.11.1 and not worry about my NI plugins not working. Who knows, since the machine hasn't shipped yet, it may come with the update already applied.

I couldn't tell you, cuz I'm too scared to upgrade from Yosemite.

I Ran the betas on a separate partition for quite a while without many issues. It was pretty rock solid for me from the start. The only huge issue I had was my MOTU midi interface wasn't recognized, so no input.

But that has been fixed now and all seems great.

I use SuperDuper to partition my main hard drive and clone the system in a sandbox. I highly recommend doing this. You get a stable system on two partitions. You boot from one of them and apply any and all updates to that system, leaving the original alone. I do this with any update - system, Logic, any apps.... Then, should something goes wrong, I can reboot into my original drive and keep working. The reason I like to use SuperDuper for this as opposed to just having two drives, it shares some info between systems. So I don't have to re-enter passwords for my email for instance, and my misc documents are all available. Screen settings are saved, and layout..... Works like a charm.

That's how I tested the betas. Figured out midi wasn't working, went back to my other system and worked. New update, test, go back to my old system. It's a simple matter of selecting a start up disk.

Cheers
