Post by karlhourigan » Mon Nov 09, 2015 1:26 pm

Can anyone suggest a program similar to Garageband, but for PC?
Especially want to have the loop capability that Garageband has. thanks!

Ableton Live is the only one I've had any experience with, it has a good loop engine.

I don't use Garageband, but Ableton, Acid (if it's still around) and Fruity Loops are all designed to help you get all loopy. Most DAWs can work with REX files and the Apple equivalent.

Check out Mixcraft. It's been marketed for several years as the Garageband for PC. I still have it installed on my PC and use it whenever I just want to do a quick project.

You might wanna also check out Tracktion; it can use Acid, Ableton and Apple loops, accepts AU, AAX and VST plugins and is cross-platform on OSX, Linux and Microsoft flavors going back to XP. It's extremely easy to use and has some advanced features that may surprise you.
