How Stable Is Cubase 8 Running on MacBook Pro?

Hi guys,

Great Rally! Loved meeting everyone and it was sad saying goodbye.

Going to get a laptop and I see the MacBook Pro being used a lot. I need 16GB RAM and I need to run Cubase 8 on it. Has anyone had any experience running Cubase on a MacBook Pro? Is it stable?

I don't use a MBP, but word has it Cubase is stable on anything but El Capitan, and even then, it's more a matter of wonky plugins, though as with everything, your mileage may vary.

Saw a tutorial in my youtube subscriptions today that I actually didn't cared about but since I watched long enough to hear that we were promised a surprise at the end I jumped to the end.
So at almost the end at around 48 minutes ... *plop* ... oh, cool desktop and all his icons, but why?
-"Oh, no! I can't believe it!"
Cubase 8 on El Capitan just disappeared and he had not saved anything so this project kind of went out the window.
Just was happy that it wasn't me.

Cubase 5, 6, 7, on win7 were rock solid and Cubase 8 is almost rock solid but ... stuff happens!
Still almost rock solid but every other month stuff happens that never happened on C5-7.
I think Steinberg has changed A LOT on Cubase 8 under the hood that's not visible CMIIW.
And C8 being both PC/Mac ... is not totally really there yet, maybe.
Sometimes they've gotta do what they gotta do though.

I've had poof crashes even with the normally studly T6, and the culprit has almost invariably been an out-of-date plugin, at least in the 64 bit realm. At least once, the host program's installation appeared to disappear, but I haven't been able to reproduce the error.

I just realize I don't read the news very thoroughly in the Steinberg Hub that splashes up in my face every thime I open a new Cubase project!
