PIano Rock

Post by Joseph » Fri Nov 20, 2015 11:27 am

I'm thinking of submitting to this listing:

PIANO-BASED ROCK INSTRUMENTAL CUES are needed by a Non-Exclusive Boutique Music Library feeding music directly to a hit show on HBO. They’re on the hunt for Mid-to-Up Tempo Instrumental Cues that you’d find on the same playlist as acts like Coldplay, Keane, The Fray, etc., etc., etc. Please listen to the following references to get in the stylistic wheelhouse of what they’re looking for: “Clocks” by Coldplay https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d020hcWA_Wg “Bend & Break” by Keane https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KcwmQUi6Nn4 “You Found Me” by the Fray https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jFg_8u87zT0 Although the references have vocals, please submit Instrumentals only for this pitch. Please submit well-crafted Piano Based Instrumental Cues that are catchy and full of mainstream appeal. They’re open to a wide range of emotions, as long as the music sounds organic and compelling. Build your Cue around a central melodic theme that instantly grabs the audience and sets the tone. Add and subtract layers of instrumentation to keep your Cue from sounding too repetitive, and avoid anything that sounds too busy, frenetic, or could distract from the dialog or voiceovers. Imagine the type of music you’d hear at the conclusion of a heartfelt journey where love prevails, or a more serious scene that captures the emotions of service men and women dealing with life in a warzone. Easy edit points and Non-Faded/Buttoned/Stinger endings will work best for this pitch. Your submissions should be 2-3 Minutes in length

I was going to use an instrumental that got forwarded a while back. Listening to it after so much time helped point out some serious mix issues. So I have remixed it and added a different reverb. Does it work? What could be improved? Thanks.

:?
I musta mis-read the subject... and thought this was gonna be a Texas-syle/Southern Rock song
about Plano, TX. (Maybe I need new reading glasses)...
FWIW: I've been to Plano, TX - there's a great German restaurant there called The Bavarian Grill.
If you should ever go there, say "Hello!" to Jurgie for me. :)

We now return you to your regularly-scheduled program. ;)

Nice track! My ears would like to hear the piano up a little more in the mix, but I'm a piano guy. :)

Okay - seriously now - about a PIANO piece; I have to agree; only, maybe up a little more than a little.
The supporting instruments (i.e.guitar) seem to be drowning out the main piano melody/part.
Nice composition. Be bold, Young Man - be bold! Tickle them ivories! :? :)
hth, cheers.

Thanks, guys! Yeah for a piano centered listing, the piano should probably be more noticeable. I get right on that.
