Get real. TAXI provides a service as the Go-Between for people who need music and people who make music. They do this EXTREMELY WELL and I would hate to think what would happen if they did not provide this service.

And this service MUST be provided to EVERYONE. Because EVERY musician and writer has the potential for success in this venture. And that success is dependent on the individual's willingness to do what it takes... and TAXI is The VEHICLE and TOOL for this.

TAXI is NOT selling "hope". TAXI is selling the World's Leading Conduit to Independent Musical Success.

Put it this way:

If you can bend you ego and study what has been successful and take some coaching, you will likely find TAXI to not only be much more than a "hope merchant" but likely find some real success. Most of the people cheering on taxi is this thread have experienced exactly that - including myself. If you are smart about it, there is nothing similar about pitching a tune to buying a lottery ticket. By working smart, you stack your chances greatly in favor of success.

If on the other hand, that seems like work, or being too submissive, then you have chosen not to be involved. That's fine - but don't be a troll about it.

It's interesting that you frequently post here - but this is the first time I have heard how you really feel about it (Taxi).

My two cents are that Taxi is worth it just for the Road Rally alone. The classes, the free advice, and all the like minded individuals you meet. Those things alone are worth the price of admission.

To be fair, I was the one who mentioned lottery ticket.

"Hope merchant". What branded product in a capitalist society isn't? Even a simple potato branded "Idaho", is made to give you hope that somehow it is better. And for some it is better, and for some it's no different, and maybe even for a very handful it is worse?? That's why I said if you are looking for hope, and hope is for things you can't control, or the part of something that is beyond your control, to look to religion or an ideology.

No one would join Taxi without the hope of their music being used. I don't think the term "hope merchant" is derogatory.
