Lost key commands in Logic X
Damn, I switched from the Pro Tools set to the U.S. set of key commands in Logic X and it wiped out all my custom key commands of which there are many that I've using since iike the 1940's.
Anyone know how to get them back?

Re: Lost key commands in Logic X
Well if you have been backing up your system disk before major installs you can copy it over from that.
Something that just occurred to me: if you don't have backups of stuff, you would be wise to just zip old preference files until you are sure you like what's happening with the new version. Zipping it in place will make it invisible to logic for example but give you a way to return to the previous ones.
Sorry I didn't mention that before.

Re: Lost key commands in Logic X
Damn again, I normally make a clone of my system drive but haven't done it yet with this one. But I do have a clone of my old drive which has Logic 9 on it. I wonder if I could get them from that somehow?andygabrys wrote:Well if you have been backing up your system disk before major installs you can copy it over from that.

If they were saved, you just have to find them.

Switching is not enough to delete them.

Re: Lost key commands in Logic X
Thanks for the link, yea I didn't know till this little adventure that you could export/save them. That will definitely be normal practice in the future. I'm making some headway with the people at Logic Pro Help. Hope is not lost.

Re: Lost key commands in Logic X
Yes! Success! I'll post this for posterity. In order to retrieve lost key commands, and it's quite easy to lose them so make sure to export them if you haven't. If you have a backup of your system drive go to Users/[YOUR USER]/Library/Preferences/com.apple.logic.pro.plist and copy that to your current preferences folder. Then trash ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.logic10.plist. Then restart the computer before your restart Logic. If you start Logic first it won't work. Thanks for everyone's help.
