Thanks again to all the posters. I think I'll grab a copy of CCC.

Upgrading is much less convoluted than a clean install.

I'll get my head around it and post the process later.

one thing I did notice was that Plugin Alliance still isn't compatible with El Capitan

If this isn' t important then it won' t be an issue

We currently do not support OS X 10.11, but are working with Apple to ensure full compatibility with our plugin framework. We have completed our testing for El Capitan and you may use our plugins on OS X 10.11, although there are a few known issues:

- Sluggish GUI re-drawing when modifying controls in certain plugins

- USB activation is not currently supported
