How would this song work for a 60's listing?
I graduated from high school in 1966, so I tend to write that way:) The song is all about a shy guy who finally gets up the nerve to tell his girl how he feels and then gets no response. Just wondering if it would qualify for a 60's genre.
Thanks
Sincerely
Paul

Hey there. I love you I really do are you surprised?
Hey there. Did you know? I’ve practiced those three words most every night.
I told you what’s inside me. I wasn’t an easy thing to do.
Simple and honest words. I just want to hear them from you.
I hold in my arms an angel. Our love that is shiny and new.
When will those soft words be whispered. Why won’t she say I love you..too
Hey there. Say say something. I see no emotion in your eyes
Hey there. I’m waiting. That look that you give needs no disguise.
Thanks
Sincerely

Hey, Hey Paul...
the folksy, straight-forward, acoustic vibe of it hits me like a John Denver-style/era song.
Sounds solid; if you find a listing that's asking for a high school romance kind of thing...
couldn't hurt to pay the 5-er and take a chance with it.
My 2 cents.

Paul,
IMO, it's very reminiscent of Simon & Garfunkel. As such, I'd be inclined to have a harmony vocal sing on the verses too. You can be Art - you just need to find someone to be Paul! And you could add in a simple electric gtr line to flush it out even more.

John Great ideas. Doesn't take much of a nudge to get me to sing more harmony. That's what I did in our band for years. Also, yes a little electric guitar. Going to try those. Thanks

Heya Paul
The lyrix and melody in this... is deeper than your explanation/interpenetration in your OP.
sorry that I can't comment on the whole 60s vibe... dunno about that... I was born in the 60s so THAT'S the reason I don't remember them
Anyway, this is an excellently (except for a couple of producer things I heard) constructed song and performance(s).
Good goin' there. I'm really digging this one.

Re: How would this song work for a 60's listing?
Russell You are just a kid if you were born in the 60's. ha ha I have this clunk that appeared in the mix just before I started singing. It took a while to figure out it was the spiral cord from my sony headphones slapping the side of the guitar. I have to play that acoustic part over anyway. I couldn't use a click track with all those stops. Was a tough one for me trying not to make mistakes in one take:)
