Baby foxes sitting in a row
Some were big and some were small,
Some were silver
and some were red.
And all had little bows,
On top of their heads.

Some were boys
and others were girls
With the boys wearing hats
And the girls having curls
Each looking like
Their Moms and Dads.

I think I might be willing to take a crack at this one,
provided that I could tweak the lyric some.

Let me know.

Fun stuff!

Baby Foxes by Patty Hunter/Stephen Debonrepos

Baby foxes sitting in a row
Some big, some small,
Some wearing little bows

Baby foxes sitting in a row
Some silver, some red.
All nodding their heads.

Baby foxes
Baby foxes
Baby foxes all sitting in a row

Baby foxes sitting in a row
Some boys, some girls
some having little curls

Baby foxes sitting in a row
some wearing hats
and looking like their Dads

Baby foxes
Baby foxes
Baby foxes sitting in a row ...

that is cool for the first run at it...

what melody would go with that.. at what tempo... fast or slow?

hmmmmm... for a child's perspective... not too fast or slow... so that they can comprehend the message... groovy, eh?

I need more specific notes. What is it that you want in the tempo, etc...?
I don't understand the question about what melody would go with it.

All of my best guesses lie within my first pass at it.

I'd need some direction in order to go forward with it.

Maybe we'll get some helpful responses on the forum.

Cheers!

Baby foxes
Baby foxes
Baby foxes sitting in a row ...
Howdy.
I've been following this thread, conversation.
I think Stephen has got a good thing working with the re-write and melody -
it's very kid-friendly, imho.

One tweak I would like to offer for your consideration -
instead of holding out & elongating that "Ba-ay-ay-ay-ay-by" in the Chorus -
how about just repeating that, on the beat... like this?

Baby, baby, baby foxes
Baby, baby, baby foxes
Baby, baby, baby foxes... sitting in a row.

I think slowing the tempo is not necessary... and may actually 'harm' the interest factor;
don't let it go so slow that it's 'boring'.

Patty
