yes they were and its integrated in Logic 10.2 as a "free" plugin. Which is likely where Henrietta is using it (?)VanderBoegh wrote: P.S. wasn't Camel Audio purchased by Apple or something a year or so ago?

Re: Komplete vs. Alchemy?
Hi guys,
Thank you ALL for your great advice!
Yes, I got Alchemy as a free plug-in through Logic X which is my DAW.
I do have quite a few NI sample libraries, and the free Kontakt Player.
I feel that now I have a lot of reading to do about synthesizers (only just started to learn about saw, square, sine waves recently -- can you believe it?-- and am playing with Logic's ES-2 synth) and a lot more listening to tension cues, EDM, hip hop.
Perhaps for now I will continue to play around with Alchemy presets. May as well get to know what I have. But Komplete sounds very tempting. I will wait till Black Friday.....
8DIO has a free Kontakt "play pack" of EDM sounds and presets, and I will also experiment with those.
Thank you!

Because you are synthesizing sounds, sound is primarily what you'll be learning.I feel that now I have a lot of reading to do about synthesizers (only just started to learn about saw, square, sine waves recently -- can you believe it?
Here is a great video that pretty well sums it up.

Then there are filters and modulators.

Agree with the other comments..
If you're running Logic and got Alchemy through its purchase by Logic..(I have both Camel Audios and the new logic version) then you have a lot of horsepower with Alchemy, especially when you learn some of the advanced tab features for bending sound, etc( macprovideo has a great course on it, might become on You Tube too)
Try to get K10 Ultimate if you're budget allows- I upgraded from 7 and it's got a ridiculous amount of everything.. you can use Massive for most EDM stuff ( and some sound design), Absynth for atmospheric and tension(drone) cues..
AS far as Battery4, it's another toolkit in K10Ultimate, more EDM based than Battery 3, but you have other drum sets in K10 Ult such as Studio Drummer,Abbey road,Drumlab, etc that can cover most other genres, and if you use Logic, Ultrabeat can cover the rest,,
