Logic Pro X question: Key/Click to edit start of audio files

I saw this in a tutorial last year but can't for the life of me find it.

There is a way to edit an audio file in Logic Pro X by dragging the start/left of it and then you can create new start points. It's a way to create a stutter effect. For example, you can take a single bass drum quarter note sample and drag somehow to create 4 x 16ths. I'm not talking about dragging the same file over itself four times, the way saw creates a little divot at the top of the wave fils and starts it each time.

Anyone have any idee or was I just drunk learning that time ?

I really didn't get you question, but here are few tips. When you select a region, hitting the ; would snap it directly to where the player is. so this way you could have the selected region coming right on the chosen time (That is very useful for scoring to film). Alternatively you could set your grid to bar, or tick or smart, smart being the default one.
There's also the loop function (by default, it's the L) all you have to do is choose your region and hit L, and it would loop it till the last end bar
Your other option would be to just put the mouse on the top right corner of the region, and you'll have to manually adjust the loop length.
But since a stutter would start say as an 8th note, 16th and then 32nd, I'd usually manually arrange it.. by duplicating the first 2 of each and then hitting command-R (to duplicate)

There is also a way to take a longer region (guitar chord or synth part) and using the scissors tool and holding the option key down while going to cut the region it will divide it evenly up into whatever subdivision you are closest too with the scissors - so its easy to separate a region into 16ths. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to let division into 32nds no matter what the grid resolution is set to.

You can also use a MIDI keyboard set to make a dummy region on an instrument track, and then cut up the region or advance the playhead using https://ask.audio/articles/tab-transient-logic-pro and group the midi track and an audio track below it with the region that you really want to edit. Depending on your system latency and your keyboard skill playing one note you might have to move some attacks around or quantize some hits.

This allows you to play a custom rhythm without having to do slide rule math and trial and error.

also - if you want to edit the "anchor" point of audio files its done in the sample editor in Logic (shortcut Key usually "W")
