Progressive Blue Grass/Alt Country Instrumental
I'm new around these parts and looking forward to getting to know you all!
I would love to hear your thoughts on this one. It's supposed to give the feeling of driving form the city to the country with an excitement, but hesitation and uncertainty.
I kind of wonder if it's too polished. Would it sound better if it was a little more down home and lo-fi?

Is this for a particular listing?
Or just something that you're working on?
Sounds pretty good.
VERY polished for sure.

Whether you think you can or you can't, you're probably right!

Hey! Sorry. I was never notified that you commented here.
I did this for a movie a while back before I was on Taxi, but i'm still looking for ways to use it. So it's not for a particular listing at the moment.
Thanks for the feedback!

Nice one Justin!
I'm a big David Grisman/Nickle Creek Fan
I got a "Nickle Creek" feeling from this one on the get go...
I think you could improve it for a Driving Scene by adding some kind of light percussion (shakers) to keep it moving.
Usually the Acoustic guitar creates that kind of momentum, but in this one I didn't hear it keep the percussion moving.
Good Luck!

Side note Justin...
I'm on Pandora listening to Nickle Creek, they also use the Standup Bass to keep forward momentum...
Just a thought...

Ya I actually had two different upright bass players play for this, but they just weren't good enough. In the end I just had to do electric myself to meet the deadline... #StudioNightmares #waistofmoneycassmcentee wrote:Side note Justin...

I feel your pain...
Andy Gabrys turned me on to these guys: https://www.orangetreesamples.com/produ ... ebass-pear
...and I use it all of the time even though I play a little Upright!
Very simple and great samples!
Here is the VST Bass (Dan Luedke on guitar and Banjo): https://soundcloud.com/robert-cass-mcen ... 12-24-2014
...and me playing mine: https://soundcloud.com/robert-cass-mcen ... 04-08-2015

Re: Progressive Blue Grass/Alt Country Instrumental
Hi Justin.
Kinda surprised the genre isn't just called ProGrass.
I have to hire pro-Bluegrass players when a song's lyric is befitting that classic 6-instrument, old-school, traditional style.
Nice track. Have you got lyric intentions or requests about it?
Also - are you aware of, or linked up with, the Bluegrass "group" on Soundcloud - for exposure sake?
Easy as clicking a button; and you can undo if you want.
Welcome aboard; looking forward to some more ProGrass from you & your Boys.
Cheers.

@Cassmccenty Those are killer samples! Fantastic songs too! Thanks for the input.
@Funsongs Thanks! I would love to have a vocal on it but nothing has clicked for me yet. And which Soundcloud group are you referring to? I just found the progressive bluegrass group. Which are you a part of? Thanks for pointing me that direction.
