Chillwave forward!

Post by artturner » Wed Jun 08, 2016 7:33 pm

Happy to get this forward in a new genre for me.

https://soundcloud.com/artturnermusic/rain

CHILLWAVE INSTRUMENTAL CUES are needed by a Music Library with International Distribution and lots of great placements. They’re on a mission to update their catalog with some great, new Down-to-Mid-Tempo, Chillwave Instrumental Cues that you’d find on playlists with artists like (but not limited to) Washed Out, Small Black, Neon India, etc., etc., etc. Please listen to the following references to get in the general stylistic ballpark of what they’re looking for: “Feel It All Around” by Washed Out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-DkslcOhytU “Canoe” by Small Black https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wD_JtYnd6tc “Polish Girl” by Neon Indian https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GuPGZZgNFsU Although the references have vocals, please submit Instrumentals only for this pitch. Give them well-crafted Chillwave Cues with a smooth, flowing vibe, contemporary synth sounds, and laidback beats that gives listeners an “Oooh, it feels like I just had a massage” experience. Build your Cue around a central melodic theme while adding and subtracting layers of Instruments as it progresses to add dynamics and keep it from sounding too repetitive or linear. A non-faded, buttoned ending will work best for this pitch. Good edit points are also a smart idea! Please avoid using anything that could make your Cue sound too busy or frenetic. Your performance should have a nice flow to it, so anything that’s stiff or MIDI-driven won’t work for this pitch. Your submissions should be at least 2 minutes long. Do NOT copy or rip off the referenced artists in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a general guide for tempo, texture, and overall vibe. Broadcast Quality is needed (great sounding home recordings are fine). This company offers an EXCLUSIVE 50/50 deal, so please be sure the Cues you submit to this pitch are NOT already signed with any other Libraries or Catalogs. You’ll get 100% of the Writer’s share, and the Publisher will get 100% of the Publisher’s share. You must own or control your Master and Copyright. Please submit one to three Instrumental Cues online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a Yes/No basis - No full critiques. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59PM (PDT), on Friday, June 3nd, 2016. TAXI #D160603CW
