Missed Deadline - Made My Own July 4th MusiVideo #U160525AR

Post by peacheschrenko » Tue Jul 12, 2016 8:58 pm

:D    Missed the deadline for a July 4th rock patriotic song - listing #U160525AR due to a family emergency and instead of being upset about it I decided to finish the song and make my own music video of it.
https://youtu.be/0xaI0akx77E

  If anyone has a link to the online July 4th commercial I would love to see it and hear what music choice they went with! Thanks in advance  :o

Original, American-Themed ROCK SONGS are needed for a $5,000, Direct-to-Ad Agency, Non-Exclusive placement in a Major American Automobile Manufacturer’s online ad campaign for the 4th of July (Independence Day in the U.S.).

The Ad Agency is looking for a fresh take on Mid-to-Up-Tempo, patriotic songs (with Male or Female Vocals) that feature the name “America” in the lyrics, or lyrics about American ideals like; freedom, independence, liberty, pride, etc. They’re pretty wide open to ideas, but they seem to prefer Rock songs (most sub-genres of Rock could potentially work), or Rock songs with some Country influence and a big, anthemic chorus that makes viewers want to puff their chests out and proudly hold their heads up high.

Quoting the Ad Agency: “Find us something that inspires, encourages and gives hope.”

TAXI Tip: Because they didn’t give us any firm references and it’s early in the game for this commercial, we think you could push the stylistic envelope a bit and try things like Hick Hop or Funk Rock to grab their attention.

They’re NOT looking for dated material, Broadway-type “show tunes,” or Opera ;-)
Give them something that sounds contemporary and fresh, and will play well in the “Fly-Over States,” aka Middle America. And while something patriotic is in order for this pitch, don’t go for anything that’s slow and overly sappy. You should walk that fine line of puffing out your chest, putting a lump in listeners’ throats, but without sounding corny. TV Commercials almost always use emotionally uplifting music, and we don’t think this will be an exception. Here are some great examples of patriotic songs (some of which ARE dated) to get your wheels turning:

“God Bless the USA” by Lee Greenwood

“Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue” by Toby Keith

“Born Free” by Kid Rock

“Made in America” by Toby Keith

“American Bad A$$” by Kid Rock

“Born in the USA” by Bruce Springsteen

“Made in the USA” by Demi Lovato (this one is probably too Pop, but the chorus is anthemic)

“Livin’ in America” by James Brown

Please submit contemporary, full-length, well-crafted songs with well-performed vocals that will emotionally connect with the listeners’ patriotic hearts.

Lyrics that avoid references to specific names, dates, times, brands, and places (except America or American places) will probably work best. Please do NOT copy or rip off the referenced artists or songs in any way, shape, or form. Use them only for general inspiration. Broadcast Quality is needed (great sounding home recordings are fine).

The creative fee for this is $5,000. This is a Non-Exclusive, Direct-to-Ad Agency placement, so you’ll keep 100% ownership of your Master and Composition rights (no publishing splits), plus you’ll also get 100% of the creative fee and any applicable performance royalties. You must own or control your Master and Copyright to pitch for this opportunity. Please do not submit any material that is already in any exclusive catalogs. All submissions will be screened on a Yes/No basis by a TAXI A&R person selected by the Ad Agency - No full critiques. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59PM (PST), on WEDNESDAY, May 25th, 2016. TAXI #U160525AR

Hey Peaches,

Cool song and great job on the video! I listed to a couple of the tracks you submitted for this week's Taxi TV and was impressed with your versatility.

I have a song that I wrote with a group of kids a few years ago that I thought was perfect, but the chorus needed a little tweak, so I worked on it. I didn't have a family emergency, but I missed the deadline, too. 'cause I couldn't finish in time (I couldn't get a better singer).
