Seeking competent mix engineer

Post by CraigR » Thu Jul 28, 2016 11:56 am

Hello,

It's about time I find a competent mixing engineer. I am pretty damn good myself, but after spending countless hours on a song with 48 tracks, my perspective gets skewed. I need another set of ears and we are willing to pay for a COMPETENT mixer, even one who does this for a living!!

Can anyone here recommend someone?

I have a gr8 guy. (London institute for performing arts schooled, worked for Def Jam, numerous awards in every genre, etc) He's not cheap, but with the exchange rate, it should equal out to about 33 cents USD lol. Just kidding on that part. It would be about 250US Add another 50 cdn and he will master. Shoot me a pm if that's in your price range and I will get you in contact.

That's close to what a local LA guy charges who does it for a living and his credits are pretty good too. Your guy sounds even better.

Boy! $250-300 is pretty steep for us broke musicians, though, LOL.

Also, I have used a small studio down the street that charges me $25/hr for mixing and mastering. I am just not too certain of his quality compared to other commercially-produced records. I still want to see what a REAL-DEAL PRO could do for a mix. So it just might COST to do just that.

I hear you Craig, it's definitely steep to have these guys put their magic on it. There's tons of guys online that are cheaper, but I lm sure you could do just as well as them!
