Tension listing
Hi again
had not so much luck with my recent pitches, most were returned on the "music does not fit listing bit" so I try to better myself.
Now I´m going for the tension listing with this track and some others
https://soundcloud.com/user-733647728/suspense-or-not
Would this fit the listing, since the reference cues are pretty bad on this
thanks
Stein
Info on listing
TENSION-BASED ORCHESTRAL INSTRUMENTAL CUES by a NON-Exclusive Music Library with tons of great placements. They’re on the hunt for suspenseful, foreboding, Down-to-Mid-Tempo instrumental Cues that you’d hear in tension-filled moments in shows like Person Of Interest, The Blacklist, Blindspot, etc., etc., etc.
“Playing By The Rules” from Person Of Interest (0:00 to 3:30): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2chLmcZ5zxM
“Red, Betrayed and Bereft” from The Blacklist (0:00 to 1:00): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XCNxSQAzZnw
“Who Is Jane Doe…Really?” from Blindspot (0:08 to 3:33): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SPAX3mLaqC8
Please submit nail biting, Tension-inducing Instrumental Cues with fresh, current sounding samples, sounds, and production techniques that create an unsettling vibe throughout. Your Cues should deliver forward momentum with the layering of instrumentation to keep them from sounding too linear or one-dimensional. As always, please avoid submitting anything that’s frenetic, stiff, or obviously MIDI-driven.

Re: Tension listing
Your track is good, but does not fit the listing at all. They are looking for tension underscores, lots of sustains and synth pad layers. They are minimalist and dissonant, not clean and rhythmic.
I suggest you listen to the first A La and write down everything that happens in the first 30-60 seconds. The music you created is even busier that the stuff that comes in around 2:35 of the first A La. Here's my initial notes on the first a la.
F minor, no rhythmic pulse.
Unison low strings, slow moving, minor key, all sustains, occasional bass drum hits
upper register legato strings enter around 0:50
synth note repeater enters around 1:09
strings get more lush, drum pulse gets more prevalent around 1:45
string pattern starts around 2:00
etc.
It is vital that you match the mood and feel of the A La's to get a forward. your music is solid, but not a fit to this listing.
Hope this helps.

Re: Tension listing
WOW great Cue but Paulie's right doesn't fit the listing at all but A GREAT TRACK. I think you might just need to Dumb it down a little. You have great chops and composing ability but less is more with Tension cues. I'm still trying to figure this Taxi thing out but what I have learned so far is that less is More which is sometimes hard to do . Keep at it you'll get it sometimes just listening to the stuff on You tube over and over, that they list might help I usually don't watch the Ala's to much I just listen to them and try and figure out what they want from there .Keep up the good work you'll get it . Re: Tension listing
Thank you again, this is my feeling also, got two others already done for the listing that are not as busy, but still. I was missing the first A La cause it was blocked outside US, but with VPN I managed to unblock it and thats the best example.
With the synth thing, thought they wanted orchestra.. but I guess I can lather it in reverb
Again, great help guys, I´m still trying to minimalize what I do, I always tend to go into structure and moving lines, need to think less
