guitar lacking highs
hi everyone
I was recording today using pro tools 7.3 with the m box 2 and noticed my guitar sound had no highs. Its a telecaster and should have that snappy tele sound. I tried some treaking but no go.
any suggestions would help
thanx charlie

Re: guitar lacking highs
Are you just going straight in, recording direct? It's really hard to get a vibe that way if so. Mic up an amp or use some amp modeling software.

Re: guitar lacking highs
are you able to ascertain if its the Mbox?
Like try another cable, another guitar.
if its not the Mbox - is the Tele tone control broken?

If it was me I know it would be the tone pot turned down after I'd posted and tried all the other suggestions.

I agree that it's most likely you aren't using di input.Check you have the input set to 'Instrument' and not 'Line'. If that doesn't help, try a DI box that between your guitar and the interface

Re: guitar lacking highs
Yeah, I'm thinking it's an impedance issue as well. mismatched impedance can suck the life out of a guitar.
