Hmmmm. Tough one. You don't want to imply more relationship than there is (fiance, wife, etc.), but you don't want to imply that she's just a friend either. Don't know.Just be careful about "better half", "other half", etc. In some states, if you call her that for too long, she could claim common law marriage on ya!

When I address my wife, I usually say"Hello, my sweet" "Yes, my sweet" "No, my sweet""Surly, you don't want me to change those five ceiling fans this weekend my sweet."If she were not my wife I'd say something like "Hello, this is...*...a very special friend"

Yep... I can imagine saying "Thi is Janet, my little schnoogie uughums". THAT would fly....me into the nearest hospital! Bonus result? Less friends! hahaRemember.... the question at hand is NOT in how I address her....but in how I introduce her in public, which I did not imphasize clearly enough when I began this thread. Late last night, I showed this thread to Janet. She had some burst-out-loud moments. Thank you all! Sometimes laughter really IS better than any med.

Did everyone forget "My Girl" or "My Lady". I know they are simple but they're elegant and not age-specific in any way.If "My Girl" was good enough for The Temptations and the Ojays and "My Lady" worked for The Moody Blues then I think it can work for you as well.Best,Cisko
