Yes! By a lot!

I could not even figure out how to use Sonar, after reading the manual, so I took a class at my local junior college in digital audio workstations. I was lucky to be able to take a hands-on class. I still had problems using Pro-Tools. It's been several years since then and I still have problems with Pro-Tools occasionally, only I have a better idea of how to deal with it now.

I think where I went wrong several years ago was having to hit record on the track as well as on the DAW. It would never have occurred to me to hit the record button in two separate locations. Seeing someone use the equipment in person was crucial.

I'm sure you got your DAW to work right, but Pro-Tools is not intuitive for people who do not know what a pre-amp is! :)

Best,

If you already have Studio One, get that working correctly first. IMO it's way easier than Pro Tools. I used PT for several years and it had a steep learning curve at first so when I got Studio One I was hesitant to learn a new DAW. It sat on my PC for about a year before I actually began messing around with it. But once I did, I fell in love with it and never went back to PT again.

I recently had a little time to play with Ableton again, but just decided that if I was to use it, it would be as a Rewire with Studio One. It's just way more user friendly for me.
