I wish I had three hands...

Post by Paulie » Mon Jun 19, 2017 6:26 am

I would like to set up a pair of foot pedals that enable me to cycle up/down a bank of sounds in various synths like Kontakt, Massive, Omnisphere, etc. Google didn’t offer a lot of options. I don’t know if the up/down MIDI CC# is standardized, but a solution like this could really help me minimize my wrist movement while working... I had carpal surgery a few years ago and want to get my ergonomics into high gear if possible.

Paulie, the key words are "midi program change", and "midi foot controller".

Here's a random foot controller I found, it has usb, and a software to program, maybe too extensive, lol!

Also you have to check with your software about program changes.

I would look into Bluetooth devices like AirTurn, cuz I have enough wires running everywhere, already. Or you could key-bind the left/right or up/down arrow keys, if you're not using them for scrolling and such. Some of my hardware has an input to use a sustain pedal to increment, but nary one has a decrement input, go figure.
