hi guys.
someone who's tried one of these audio recorders, where you can record anything you find on the web?
downloaded apowersoft free audio recorder, but it hardly records any bottom end, sounds really thin and flimsy...

Re: audio recorder missing bottom end
Paul, I had to google it, it says it records from your computer's soundcard or microphone. There are drivers and codecs that run your soundcard eg. Realtek ac'97, and they usually have accompanying software with eq's etc. https://goo.gl/images/Qcmzzv
It depends on your OS, pc, mac or linux. For example linux has alsa and pulse audio... I'm not sure about mac, applesound? realtek? Anyway, you need to determine what software apowersoft audio recorder is using as the input and check the settings on that software that might have some sort of sound shaping effect going on.
I'm not sure if all that made a whole lot of sense, lol, I'll give you an example by what I have engaged here on the computer I am using. I am on a Linux machine using ALSA. The ALSA mixer says I am using an ATI IXP soundcard with a Realtek ALC 655 rev 0 chip. So basically, you have a physical soundcard, that contains a physical chip, and you need a driver or software (ALSA, Realtek ac'97, or ?) to run the chip. The recording software (apowersoft, Audacity, or a media player) chooses the software (ALSA,Realtek ac'97 or ?) as the source or input for the audio, and if that particular software is using an eq or other sound effecter it will affect the input to your recording software (apowersoft).
