My 1982 Ovation Electric Legend guitar purchased for $800 in 1982 that I still use for gigs and recording today!

I always have a standing ovation when she is on her stand at the shows. :D

Pro Tools - I use it every day and absolutely love it.
I bought an elite last year to replace an HSS that was stolen, I still can't quite get used to it but im sure trying...

1. Cubase. Been a user since early VST versions in the late 90's. 5 was a great version and it's been a workhorse through out. Somewhere around 500-600 GB of projects over the years, amazing I've been able to keep them all this time.

2. An old Roland VGA-7 amp. I have Orange amps, a Kemper, Mesa Boogie Triple Recto, Bogner.. for some reason I always go back to this stupid Roland for recording.. it's turnkey tone for me.

1. My G&L Climax Bass. It is one of the first two basses G&L made after Leo Fender's death, and was only made from '93 to '95. I wasn't aware of any of this when I got mine in the early 00's for something like $300... I just knew I could afford it, the neck width was great for my tiny hands, and the active/passive humbucker gave me an incredible range of sounds. Within the last year I got a G&L Tribute L-2000 (also for a great price), but the Climax is still my go to for gigs.

2. Rickenbacker 330 FIreglo, early 90s. A high school friend got a white one in college, and shortly after playing it I saw one for ~$600 at the local guitar shop. I gather together all of the beginner guitars and effect pedals I had amassed over the few years I had been playing and traded them all for that Rickenbacker. Many guitars have come and gone in the years since, but this one has been my mainstay ever since.

Which brings me to...

3. '67 Reissue Flying V. I have had 3 of these... and every time I have gotten rid of one I have regretted it. I don't even remember what I traded the first one for, but it is something that has long since been traded away. The second one I gave to a friend who I crashed with but couldn't afford to pay for rent, so I gave him the Flying V *and* a Roland D50 when I moved out. When my wife was in Medical School she vowed to get me a new Flying V when she finally started making money... and 2017 was my year :) The RIck is great for chords and strumming because of its small neck and my tiny hands, but as soon as I started playing the new Flying V I was able to play in styles I haven't really been able to nail in many, many years!

4. R.I.P. my very first Tasam Porta 02 4-track cassette recorder. Without that little monstrosity I wouldn't be posting on this forum today!

Whatever the latest purchase is - lol! When I switched from PC to Mac, I let GarageBand just sit there - wish I’d gotten started earlier. Then once I did, I eventually moved on to LogicPro, having tried Ableton Live and ProTools but I keep returning to LPX. But the thing I’m most excited about is my new Keystation keyboard controller - big improvement over the smaller one I had before - happy it bit the dust, justifying the purchase.

Must be my monitors. I got a good deal on a used set of NHT m-00 some years ago, and I really love the sound. Ive learned to mix on them, and I wouldnt know how without them.
