3 more + for newbies like me

Hey guys,

I was not sure about posting regulary about my forwards anymore to be honest, because I was concern that it might just be an ego thing...
But I had a few people here (mainly new members) commenting, saying that they find this encouraging to hear about another newbie's "success".... I honestly didn't think about this before.
So I put more info here below for you guys

I obviously have good reasons to be happy again. But I'm also very desapointed with a few returned tracks (mainly with vocals, contemporay criterias... that are still quite mysterious -and frustrating yes - for me... More things to learn I guess )

So here it is for you guys a few personal information, numbers etc...

-IMPORTANT: I'm new at Taxi, but I'm not new at composing in various genres.
-I'm still on a 1/2 ratio (1 forward for 1 return) and I'm composing (at least) a track per day since 2 months that I've joined Taxi.
-still have 20 tracks pending (waiting to be reviewed) and try to keep it that way.
-I'm not affraid to compose out of my comfort zone (that means analyze the genre, acquire the proper tools, listen a lot, ask questions, practice, THAN... create)
-I choose my "battles" wisely ! (I'm sometime tempted by a listing, but there are things that I'm not good at, and want to keep time and energy for a more suitable one. Because there will always be another suitable listing, no doubt. .
-I give a lot of attention (the wording, the "in between the lines" thing too, the temp tracks...) to each listing before putting my hands on my keyboard.
-I'm composing for Electro, Hard Rock, Hip hop, Urban, Country, Orchestral, Trailer, Jazz, Ambience, Rock,...etc.. so I can have access to more listings.
-I only submit a track when I'm sure it fits the brief (If I have a doubt I ask here on the forum, or I JUST DO NOT submit, or I do the modifications. No room AT ALL for "maybe it could work".. stuff like that. Screeners at Taxi know their job, at least as much as you know yours )
-DO NOT submit more than one track per listing in the begining, even if you feel confident. Learn the rules of the game. THEN you can submit more.
-Go to the FORWARD Taxi's page. Listen to the "successful" tracks already there ! ( http://blog.taxi.com/forward/ )
-I don't like recycling. An old track is rarely a good fit for a listing (unless you're ready to modify it, but even there...). I prefer composing for a listing than recycling. More efficient in my experience.
-I see Taxi as a school. Practice, learn, work, discover,... and have fun

I had the same concerns. I think you should keep posting your forwards. That's why this particular Forum was established: to show others that the process actually works and to help everyone learn something. Keep up the awesome work!

Just to reinforce the message about posting (and although I'm speaking for myself I believe many feel like this), its good to know that tracks DO get forwarded, and to hear what they're like. It helps understand the listings, the screeners and also the standard. Also, as you mentioned its valuable encouragement and its great see people doing well. Keep posting!

Keep 'em coming Phil. It's also good to listen to what got forwarded. Especially if I/we got a return on the same listing. This helps to hear where I/we may have gone wrong.

Yes, I concur with what others have said, keep posting. I like hearing what gets forwarded. It helps. Also, we're in this together, so your success is our success. It's truly encouraging when I see people succeeding with their dreams and goals. Congrats on all your forwards. Let's hope they turn into placements.
