One of the perks of living in Studio City...
There was a letter left on the front of our building a couple of days ago from CSI:NY. Here's the relevant paragraph -"Normally we would not feel the need to notify you for backlot filming, however this situation is unique. On Saturday, January 10th, we will be blowing up a van on the residential street set in the middle of the lot. Then, on Saturday, January 24th, we will be blowing up a house at the same location. Both explosions will take place during the day."Boy, do I miss those days. But, I had to leave that to follow my true calling as a musician... I helped blow up houses at the beginning of Phantasm II, and at the end of Big Bad Mama II, and I can't tell you how many cars I had a hand in blowing up...Seems a lifetime or two ago...

Hey Von,I see filming all the time when I drive west on Burbank off the 405 to go to my studio. They're always closing off Woodley N. of Burbank to film, and have cops hanging out to make sure no one drives up there. But I live in Chatsworth, and you know the reputation of our community. I was driving past an industrial park recently, and noticed a bunch of, er, nice looking people standing outside of a video studio on their break from "acting." Ern

LOL I worked as a recording engineer in a Chatsworth video studio for years, but MY job didn't have the benefits of the other video studios in town.I had to mix sound for LIVE bands to 3/4" video tape, with no overdubs. It was quite a challenge to get it right the first time.No naked women, unfortunately! Ern

They're always filming in our local neighborhoods. There's a couple of scenes in the movie "Crash" - one that has the corner at the end of the block I live on - and another that has my apartment owner's house in the background. That's just a 'for-instance' that I know...
