What is the right thing to say? Is there a right thing to say other thanAww F^ck. And yes, I lost everything that wasn't on-line 3 years ago. The two blessinga from it for me were that it forced to me to remember what was good about all my stuff, and of course, how to make sure it never happens again. I can truthfully say every single time I've ever had stuff stolen or lost, it cleared my plate for better things to arrive. And better things did manifest pretty quickly. I know that's not much consolation. Really sorry for your loss

Steve - I don't think you could have put it any better than that. My thoughts exactly. This situation has put me into "super composer mode." A person could let a situation like this go one of two ways - destroy them and give up or work your ass off like never before. I chose the latter Thanks for the post, Steve.Dave

Hey Dave;Sorry to hear about what's happening. Here's keeping our collective fingers crossed for your data being able to be recovered!My understanding is that erasing files merely tags data to be overwritten, so that the data can often be recovered. I'm not sure how re-formatting a drive applies to this, but here's hoping for a positive outcome. Let us know how it turns out!Suz
