Any special Christmas gifts?
Hey, all.I received a copy of a book I've been wanting for some time now: Tunesmith, by Jimmy Webb. I've only made it through the first three chapters at this point, but it looks like it's going to be a keeper. Webb is very insightful, and his rigor and breadth of knowledge really set the songwriting bar way up there. This is going to be a favorite gift for a long time, I think.Anyone else receive or give something that really left a mark?

That satan finish must be great for playing the metal.

I picked up Tunesmith a while ago. It is a very interesting read. Jimmy Webb is one of my favorite songwriters and his approach to this book was quite entertaining. It really gives you an insight into the brilliance of this guy.Rich

Re: Any special Christmas gifts?
The studio got Stylus Expanded and my hubby got a trumpet. That was a funny sight. My 17 year old decided his dad needed a trumpet since he use to play many years ago (20+). We laughed so hard!!! It's safe to say he's rusty!!! They had an impromptu jam session with my son, my husband and my husband's brother. Imagine one playing the electric guitar, another playing a tiny guitar I bought for my 6 year old and a rusty trumpet player. Need I say more. Comedy!!!! I swear we need a video camera following us around. I did get a little video and might try to edit some and post it once my new video software gets here.
