Screeners were showing some love on V-Day!

Post by JohnnyP » Sat Feb 15, 2020 8:45 am

Hey all,
Really happy about going 3 for 3 on the last listing! here's the listing;

HAPPY, EMOTIONALLY UPLIFTING POP SONGS with Male or Female Vocals are needed by a very successful Music Publisher with a long track record of placements in Film, TV, and TV Commercials.

Our Client is eagerly searching for Mid-to-Up-Tempo Songs that might fit on a playlist with the following references they gave us:

“Happy” by Pharrell

“Can’t Stop The Feeling” by Justin Timberlake

“I'm Good” by GRiZ

Quoting the Music Publisher: “I’m looking for feel-good Songs that are playful and make you want to dance. Please no regret, breakup, or sad love Songs.”

Please send contemporary\, youthful Pop Songs that have a fresh\, fun\, feel-good\, vibe and sound. Your productions can vary\, but should be current and _Pop-_appropriate.
Having a modern vocal style with solid, confident deliveries could also help you with this request!

Although specific lyric themes were not requested, your Songs should have positive, emotionally uplifting lyrics. Please avoid submitting anything that’s romantic, melancholy, depressing, or sad. Please also avoid references to specific names, dates, times, places, brands, and profanity. Do NOT copy the referenced artists or Songs in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a general guide for tempo, tone, and overall vibe. Broadcast Quality is needed.

The specific deal points will be handled on a case-by-case basis. If you’re inclined to do an Exclusive deal, please don’t submit material that’s already signed with other libraries or publishers. You must own or control your Masters and Composition to submit to this opportunity. Please submit as many Songs as you’d like,

Congrats John! 3 out of 3 is as good as it gets! They are all great tunes and they fit the listing for sure. Nice production as well!

Big congrats, John.
My Old-Guy ears seem to think you may most-certainly have quite a big future/commercial-ad-friendly HIT with I Gotta Have It. Clearly the best of the 3 - IMHO.
Kali J and your production are also a 'hit-making' team.
QUESTION: who did the male vocals on Live The Life I Love?

Thanks Tom and Peter!
Yeah Kali really nails that vibe perfectly! Met her at the Rally this past year.
Peter the vocalist on “Live The Life I Love” is one of those anonymous singers. He’s actually got a pretty successful career fronting an indie pop band.
On these work for hire jobs the singer always has the option in my contract to be credited or not.
Kali J is good w being credited which is why I feature her name on the songs she sings.. when I remember to lol!

Just to be clear - "best of 3" - I mean it will be the LEAST SURPRISE when you post of a big placement(s) for that first track.
It really does have the "IT" factor going for it... or, working for YOU... "cha-ching", if you know what I mean. :?

Lol Peter. I gotcha. And thanks. It’s a fav of mine too!

On “I Gotta Have it” I actually cut and pasted the hook (from later in the song) and put it at the beginning. It seems to set the tone pretty well!
