I also think they sound authentic but the bottom line is what the screener believes what authentic is. I had a very bad experience with 'heartwarming instrumentals' around Christmas. What I as a guy from Europe considered heartwarming and in line with the references was something which a Californian screener apparently considers to be too 'sad' :D Just put it all down as an experience. Screeners are people and have their own taste and musical background and the 'system' will never be perfect but - from my own experiences - it most of the time works very well! So in other words, there will always be anecdotes like yours but in the majority of cases it all works out well. Don't get discouraged!
