Yep - that one works. Definitely sounds like a dance-party/club vibe goin' on.
Would be 'ghoul-cool' to have a music video for it.

I love the idea of having a music video . . . especially if Disney or Nickelodeon pay for it! ;)

Here's the latest mix. It sounds good to me. But what I know about this genre would fit inside of a thimble with lots of room to spare. ;)

Well, "Too Ghoul For School" was returned. The screener didn't get a fun, upbeat vibe from it. It seems fun and upbeat to me. But then again, I'm from another place and time. What do you think? In the meanwhile, it is back to working on instrumentals and cues.

Old-Guy ears taking another listen (aint nobody else here to comment? it's like a graveyard around here :? :o  8-) )
Can't pretend to be the Screener - but what about somehow making the Chorus POP out more - maybe stacking vocals to make it sound 'party-like'...?
I think it being just the one main voice/vocal throughout doesn't create enough dynamic changes.
Maybe the drums/percussion could mute the snare on the Verse - just let the bass drive it; then pick it back up in the Chorus...?

2 cents.

I just checked it out. I agree that there likely wasn't enough of a dynamic change between the verse and chorus. The stacked vocal idea that was mentioned is probably a good thought, but also having a significantly different groove between the verse and chorus is another thing. Maybe a bass line that has more space during the verses, then comes in full in the chorus. The vocal is also very very high in the mix. It need to be up front of course, but it is so loud it actually buries the music.

All that being said, it's a very catchy melody in both the verses and chorus (LOVE the title), the vocal performance is perfect for the type of song and the pipe organ/sound fx really do make it fun and Halloween-ish. My daughter was super into Monster High, and I can totally imagine this song in that (unfortunately now cancelled) show.

Thanks for listening and sharing your thoughts. I'm revisiting the mix with your suggestions in mind.

Hey Lamar, I see that you got a return for this listing, but did you also submit it for the other Halloween listing that just deadlined on July 1?

Fun song!
