Best title ever? (ambient drone for pandemic....)

Post by jazzstan » Wed Jul 08, 2020 1:42 pm

I just got the most delightful comment in a forward that I've ever received: (and that goes back 2 decades!)

"The title! Oh my God that's so good."

It was for one of the ambient drone Instrumentals for 'pandemic projects.' In the past, I've had luck (and royalties!) with tension underscore forwards, but I still try to improve my understanding and interpretation of the listings. Parallel with this, my left brain - the wordsmith - wants in on the action, so it makes a case for "let me work on the title while your right-brain tends to tone, texture and transients."

So after a search of laboratory and clinical terminology, including scanning a couple research papers... I found the right words to assemble into a title:

"Rhesus Pieces."

Haha..Good one. I like titles like this, I wonder if it makes them get chosen by editors if they laugh ?

I had a similar comment a couple of years ago from one of the screeners, it was for Mr Robot style electronic tension track I'd called " Geeks Bearing Riffs "

Fancying the 'wordsmith' thing - your report DOES provide more proof that titles are super important.
Also - there's reason why good motivational speakers (or any public speaker) usually kick things off with a joke... some humor:
because a good one helps people remember; and laughter puts people at ease, and gets their attention.
Cheers!
