Is external SSD important for EastWest VIs?

I'm probably going to buy a couple of EastWest VIs - the Platinum Piano, Hollywood Orchestra, maybe Hollywood Choir. I'm probably going to get them mailed to me on hard disk, since my internet isn't fast enough to make downloading reasonable. I'm wondering if I should try to get them on an SSD disk. I'm running Reaper on a 2018 MacBook Pro, 16GB RAM with an internal 1TB SSD drive which is already more than half full, 2.7GHz Intel Core i7 processor, with four Thunderbolt 3 ports. Would it be worth the extra money to get the EastWest VIs on a Thunderbolt SSD drive, rather than a USB 3 HDD drive? Thanks!

SSD all the way, and stream from disc, if you have <= 16GB of RAM
