New Song
Hi All,
I hope everyone is alright and doing okay with the pandemic. I have not been around for awhile but I thought I would drop this song on for anyone who is willing for feedback. I have been hard at work and am still learning as I go. I will be around to contribute my feedback as well.

Cheers everyone!

Hi Andre
Thanks so much for your comments. I guess I am sort of in no man's land with the Conga. Not sure what to do with it. I will listen again and I think I will probably bring it up. Hope all is well with you. I love your chill music. Great listen at the end of the day! For "Funky Phil", I love that guitar sound you do the licks with. What kind of guitar is it? Very jazzy.

Re: New Song
Sounds good...Tropical vibe
Main thing I'm missing is the kick..it's kind of absent in the mix. Vocal needs extra work on the tuning in some spots

Great song and well produced! Between the song and your voice, I got the feeling I was listening to "Maroon 5"! Nice job.

Hi TomCTWF wrote: ↑Wed Oct 14, 2020 5:53 amHey Robert
Cool track - has a nice, fresh vibe - almost a little tropical (Reggae beat?).
Genre-wise, while I am not at all an expert, it feels as if it sits a little between the trop-pop and the EDM chair. At the moment, I see it more on the pop side BUT the start feels more like EDM (with the risers etc).
Would it be worth pushing it much more toward one side? For a more tropical feel, I guess percussion would have to be adjusted, more things a la 1:19.
Proper EDM would be much more work.
Vocals: The reverb does not feel contemporary enough to me. I think, usually, it is (much) more subtle in current pop productions. The tremolo effect e.g. at 1:50 feels a little strong, maybe reduce it a bit?
Do you have a reference track or listing in mind?
Tom
I was aiming at working with reggaeton beats for a pop song. No one really seems to be fusing that so I drew from some different areas. I was trying to stick with a pop formula using a tropical beat. It is not proper EDM...I agree but I like the risers. I lowered the reverb for my next remix...thank you! I really appreciate the comments. They are helpful. No reference track or listing in mind at this time. This won't fit a specific need at the moment but I am hoping a library will have use for it at some point.

Re: New Song
Thanks Mark. The kick does need more presence. I am going to compress and bring it up on the next pass. Greetings and regards!cosmicdolphin wrote: ↑Wed Oct 14, 2020 6:13 amSounds good...Tropical vibe

Re: New Song
I absolutely love that sound. There is a track called "Friendly Pressure" by Maysa on Youtube. They use that silky jazz guitar for the solo. Just wonderful.gitanosoy wrote: ↑Wed Oct 14, 2020 9:23 amHi Robert,Robertj64 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 14, 2020 5:20 amHi Andre
