Similar/ almost duplicate listings

Did anybody else notice that there have been listings popping up that are very similar to each other? An example would be the Positive Corporate Instrumentals vs. Uplifting Corporate Instrumentals, and it’s seemingly the same company that is asking for tracks, because the descriptions/details are almost identical.

1. Should I submit the same tracks to both listings?
2. Will it be the same screener for both listings?

I see nothing wrong submitting to very similar listings, I have done that myself.
You may or may not get the same screener, and if you get the same one you may get very different reviews for the same tracks! Again I speak from personal experience

Sometimes it really is the same client but they purposely want the listing split to better categorize for the client, assign screeners, etc. At least I think I read that before. There are also times when the listing wording is very similar but it really is 2 different clients who just happen to be looking for the same types of tracks.

One thing you can do is contact Taxi and ask them if the listings are the same client. They obviously won't tell you who the client is or answer "Is the client Library X?" but last time I had this concern, they did answer the "same client" question. Note that their polices on answering these types of questions are subject to change as they've been burned before by people who used the info in bad ways. But definitely worth a call or email.

As someone else said, it might be good to submit to both listings because the screener and the screening criteria might be different.

Hey friends, I've been digging through the forum and this thread is the closest I've found to a question I have.

I've done a lot of pitching songs to publishers at in-person or remote events in Nashville... things like workshops, songwriter association events, paid listening sessions, etc. In that situation, I would never pitch a song to a publisher twice... if they pass on the song once, you're probably wasting your time to send it to them again unedited a month later, that's obvious.

But since the clients are all anonymous on Taxi, how do we avoid doing just that? If I see a brief one month from a client looking for material for a new recording artist to record and release, and I send a song in for that, and then a month later I see another similar brief and think the same song fits that brief as well, how can I know it's not the same client and that I'm not wasting their time, a good opportunity and $5 sending them something they just turned down last month?

If you're talking about two Taxi listings, you can ask Taxi; they'll tell you whether or not it's the same client (without revealing who the client is). I think Taxi does usually include that info in the listing if it's the case, but it could have been left out inadvertently.

Hey Michael, thanks so much for responding! Yes, that's correct, but more specifically, let's say I submitted to a Taxi listing for a publisher or A&R person that was looking for demos to pitch to a new recording artist, and let's say it got forwarded and that publisher/A&R person got to hear my song. Then let's say 2 months later a similar Taxi listing comes up and I want to submit the same song, but I'm nervous that it might actually be same client, in which case I do NOT want to send them the same song that they were already forwarded two months ago. How can I know this? Your answer seems to suggest I can reach out to Taxi, give them the numbers of the two listings in question and ask them "are these for the same client?", is that correct? Or is there a way I can know that myself from the details on the listing? Do clients perhaps have a specific code associated with them that shows up somewhere in the listing ID number perhaps? I suspect not because if that wouldn't be a very sustainable anonymity. Again, thanks for responding and helping a noob like me out.
