Need insight...

My first attempt at writing a fantasy trailer. I listened to the trailer from the movie BFG. Then compare it to mine.... You can tell I need help....

I'm not sure what to say really. It's a difficult genre and often the people who are good at it are highly trained and have strong orchestration and music theory backgrounds ( try searching the forums over at VI control to see what I mean )

It's probably not something you can expect to dip your toe in for the first time and come up trumps. I think there are some promising elements. I like the theme at 30s for instance although it's gone too soon and replaced by something else instead of growing. Generally the sounds themselves seem to be of a good quality although I'm not sure they've been mixed well enough to support them.

It's hard to say what would improve it because it's such a niche and I don't think there's any quick fixes. There are courses geared towards this sort of stuff so if it's a world you want to get into I think that would be best idea but well done for having a go. As it stands though it's quite some way short of the bar I feel.

I can't vouch for any of them as I've not used them but those are the ones I've seen around the most.
