Heaven Bound 80s - 90s Country Ears Please

Post by LamarPecorino » Wed Jun 30, 2021 11:49 am

I'm sorry for this last-minute request. I'd appreciate any thoughts on my mix of Heaven Bound. The files that I sent to my mixing engineer are somehow corrupted. So I am flying solo. I am submitting for the following listing. Thanks in advance.

https://soundcloud.com/user-155785959/h ... s7I06ooIFJ

CLASSIC '80's to '90's-Style COUNTRY SONGS with Male Vocals are needed for several (up to) $5,000, Direct-to-Music-Supervisor placements in a range of TV Shows on Major Networks.

This Music Supervisor is on the hunt for Songs in All Tempos in the general stylistic ballpark of the following references we got directly from them:

"Forever and Ever, Amen" by Randy Travis

"All My Ex's Live In Texas" by George Strait

"I'm No Stranger to the Rain" by Keith Whitley

"Boot Scootin' Boogie" by Brooks & Dunn

You can submit recently recorded Songs in the general production style of the references; or, if you’ve got any vintage recordings (recorded back in the day), the Music Supervisor would love to hear those as well!

Quoting the Music Supervisor: "I'm looking for concepts that are universal and can work for a variety of scenes from Love, party, pain, fun, etc."

Please send well-crafted Country Songs with a generally similar classic sound to the references and other songs like them. Your submissions should have great melodies, inviting rhythms, instantly memorable choruses, and a heaping dose of classic Country charm. Your production and any virtual instruments or samples you use should be high-quality. Top your submissions off with honest lyrics and well-performed, compelling vocals, and you could have just what this Music Supervisor needs!

Lyrics that avoid references to specific names, dates, times, brands, places, and profanity will make your Songs easier to place. Do NOT copy the referenced examples in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a guide for tempo, tone, and overall vibe. Broadcast Quality is needed.

The estimated license fee for each placement is up to $5,000, depending on the ultimate use. These are Direct-to-Music Supervisor placements, so you’ll keep 100% ownership of your Master and Composition rights, plus you’ll also get 100% of the sync fee and any applicable performance royalties. You must own or control your Master and Copyright to pitch for this opportunity. Please submit as many Songs as you’d like, online or per CD. NO DEADLINE EXTENSIONS for this request. Sorry folks, but we're on an extremely tight deadline, so please don't ask! All submissions will be screened and critiqued by a TAXI screener that was hand-picked by the Music Supervisor. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59 PM (PDT) on Wednesday, June 30th, 2021. TAXI # S210630NT

Nice song, team.
Sounds era-appropriate, IMHO.
TBH: found myself wondering if there'd be a Bridge - not that that's a deal-breaker; just curious.
Those ref tracks certainly set the bar high for this listing - good luck

Very cool Great singer. I was wondering in your lyric note line if you could change some of that repeating sequence of going up on the last note. Seems a bit much at time...just for a little change Stopped for a cup of coffee
and to call you on the phone...right there..coffee and phone same note??????
Thankfully, while growing old is compulsory, growing up remains optional!

Thanks, Peter! When I wrote the song back in the early 90's, bridges weren't all that common in Country. When I dusted it off, I didn't think to write a bridge. I did take out a specific geographic reference. I also followed Ralph Murphy's advice and went with the all-important "You" rather than the original "She". Thank you, Ralph!

Thanks for listening and writing. Excellent suggestion. I had toyed with changing the melody and elected to leave it as is. My reasoning was that it musically underscored the monotony of life on the highway. We'll see whether or not, it was a good decision.

Sounds great, Lamar. Good luck with its future use & placement.
(EDIT: hmmm... except for the very end? That odd little 'blip' - might be better clipped off a little sooner?) :? 8-)
